The DfE have now announced the launch of the 2012 National Scholarship Fund for Teachers as well as introducing a NEW scholarship fund called the New SEN Support Scholarship.
More information about applying to the SEN Support Scholarship programme and National Scholarship Fund for Teachers can be found in full in the funding for training section of the Department's website.
Applications will open on Monday 30 April 2012. All applications must be online and the deadline for completed applications is midnight on Thursday 17 May 2012. Apply now and start between September 2012 and August 2013. Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 24 August 2012.
Applications will be rigorously scrutinised and scored by Teaching Agency and Department officials, and the assessment process will be externally verified.
The scholarships are competitive and funding will only be awarded to the highest scoring applicants whose proposals meet stringent criteria.

Note: Local authority peripatetic (centrally employed) teachers with QTS will also be eligible, but they must secure the support of one school for their scholarship application.
