University Level Accreditation - Gain the qualifications you need.

Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (CCET) - A route to the SpLD Practising Certificate for those with ATS

Real Training is working in partnership with Middlesex University to help UK and international clients can gain additional qualifications within the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in the form of a Developing Professional Practice module worth 60 credits at Masters Level.

If you decide to study for Masters level credits you will be enrolled at Middlesex University as well as with Real Training. We will provide you with all the necessary paperwork.

The CCET itself forms the core of a Developing Professional Practice Module validated by Middlesex University. The title of the module is Developing Professional Practice: Competence in Educational Testing (DPP: CET).

Although the bulk of the work required is contained within the CCET course itself candidates should be aware that there are additional assignments to ensure that the equivalent 60 credit requirements are met.

In brief the requirements are to:

  • Complete a pre-course assignment of 1000 words equivalence. This assignment is designed to help you analyse your personal needs and the needs of your school or institution and to identify the ways in which this course will meet those needs.
  • Complete the CCET course and all its assignment requirements. This will be done in the way you have chosen either by online route or by the intensive programme. This is considered to be broadly equivalent to 7000 words.
  • Complete a post-course assignment of 4000 words equivalence. This assignment is designed to help you critically analyse the impact of your work on the course in your workplace and to set out an action plan for future change – both personal and systemic.

Total requirement is equivalent to 12000 words. More detailed information about the requirements is found in the Module Handbook. The additional assignments are submitted online.

Please note that if you wish to use CCET as the basis for accreditation at Masters Level you must have qualified teacher status (QTS) and a first degree.

The fee for the registration on the DPP: CET module is £325 + VAT. Modules such as the DPP: CET can be used to achieve a Masters degree. An example of how that might be done is set out below. Please note this is only an example.
