For those that already hold or are enrolled on a course leading to the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (Level A), we run a short course which will accredit you to write access arrangements for public examinations: GCSE, GCE, GNVQ, AEA, Entry Level, Basic Skills& Key Skills.
The AAC is a stand-alone course which can be undertaken by all those who graduate from the CCET (Level A). On its successful completion, students will be awarded the Certificate of Psychometric Testing, Assessment and Access Arrangements, a qualification recognised by the Joint Council for Qualifications for writing access arrangement reports for GCSE, GCE, GNVQ, AEA, Entry Level, Basic Skills & Key Skills.
To enrol directly on the AAC you must have already completed or be about to complete the CCET (Level A) and be a teacher or recognised by your head of centre (headteacher or principal usually) as being suitable for the task of assessing. This means that some teaching assistants can enrol as long as they have the complete backing of their head of centre. Those who do not have CCET should enrol on the Combined CCET and AAC course.
You should also have experience of or interest in working with clients with dyslexia and/or other specific learning difficulites. This course is run in collaboration with Dyslexia Action.
